It’s been so nice to be with family the past few days, I also think I have fallen into a few food comas and all the extra sweets I had. Let’s just say, the gym will be seeing me way more often this week. Arnel and I made a goal to run a half marathon or full marathon during the summer, we shall see how that goal turns out. This past weekend we headed outdoors for a bit, just a stroll through the neighborhood and picked up some waffle mix to bring to my sister’s house (will elaborate on the waffle mix a bit more). I had one of those moments where I was overwhelmed by my own closet, sounds so silly but really I walked out and was like what’s an item I haven’t worn in ages then bingo it was my mom’s leather shearling coat she gifted me years ago. I threw it on and literally wore it all weekend long. Such a great invest piece, I know I will be wearing it more often this winter.
I wanted to stay comfy yet casual, so I wore my cozy J.Crew Sweater with Side Buttons, purchased the ivory since I will get more wear out of this winter, love that it comes in a heather grey as well. I opted for some high waisted jeans and I have been loving the CoH Rocket Crop Denim, they are so flattering and so comfy, definitely don’t lose it’s shape and look great dressed up or dressed down.
My Leather Shearling Coat is an oldie but a goodie, was such a sweet gift from my mom years ago and I kept it in hopes that I will get to wear it eventually and this past weekend it came in so handy. It’s also super warm and comfortable. I found a few similar ones like this one here and many other’s linked below.
I decided to wear my Thelma Loafers again which have been my newest and most recent obsession, you can also check out the blog post I recently did with ShopThelma here. I also found a similar pair that I just adore
Now let’s go back to the waffle mix, the other day a reader asked me what was on item that I wish I could eat every single day, I thought for a second and then I realized it was home made waffles for sure. Our old babysitter from elementary school used to make them from scratch and would make use massive batches, they were the best thing in the world. My sister has now inherited that trait so she has been making waffles on the weekends so we picked up a large mix of Aunt Jemima’s and made waffles Sunday evening and the whole family just dug in. Try it with some Talenti Ice cream on top, it’s heavenly.
