This past week my baby sister was in town and split the time between my other sister and I which was a ton of fun, she enjoys being in the city with us, pretty sure her favorite was the pool since she got to lounge next to it during the day. Most recently I have been gravitating towards fun summer tops that can be dressed up or down especially for work, it’s great to be able to throw on a blazer with a great pair of slacks or trousers and transition into a more fun look with some open toe block heel sandals and by just removing the blazer. That’s the great part about investing in pieces that are versatile for weekend wear but appropriate for a business casual look.
This gorgeous Embellished Top (wearing a size 0 for reference) was a recent purchase after spotting it online! Absolutely love the intricate detailing, vibrant colors and flattering peplum. Wore this top to an event this past week for Weddington Way, if many of you aren’t familiar with it; it’s a line of bridesmaid dresses for under $200, they cater for women in all shapes and sizes and strive to provide the best bridesmaid shopping experience ever. I was fortunate enough to meet the designer Danielle Shriber, who is just so amazing and so lovely and gave me the inside scoop of all the thought and work that goes into the dresses, so if you are in the market, be sure to check them out. With my sister’s upcoming wedding in October I made sure to send my sister a few for approval and she loved them. For the event I went with a Loft Cropped Navy Pant, but for a more casual look in the heat then these Navy Shorts are the way to go. These Kate Spade Platform wedges are from a few months ago but I found a few that you all will love; these Steve Madden Platform and these Soludos Two Tone Platform Espadrille. My straw tote had recently sold out, but the company can make custom orders, also make sure to see the rest of the collection here. There is a recent post of favorite straw totes under $100.
Saturday was such a fun day, we spent the day exploring more coffee shops and areas of the city we hadn’t quite experienced before and enjoyed some quality time with my sister and brother in law. We had so much food at Bar Taco that we pretty much were suffering from a food coma for a good hour but nothing a little ice cream couldn’t fix.
This Lavender Tie Shoulder Top (wearing a size 0 for reference) was perfect for dressing up or down, whether you want to pair it with some trousers and a light blazer or go for a more casual look, you won’t be disappointed (the peplum doesn’t hurt when you are stuffed after a big meal). If you prefer more neutral shades, it also comes in an ivory version which would look great with just about any colored bottoms. I also found this similar Lavender Peplum for under $20 and this Gingham Purple Top is too cute to pass up (currently on sale); those sleeves are a total statement. Frayed Cropped Bottoms have been a hit this summer a this pair from Ann Taylor is no different, I wore them out and about all day and they didn’t stretch out or get uncomfortable one bit. I am always on the hunt for a great pair of white bottoms, the best part is they are under $90; wearing a size 2p true to size.
For a more dressed up look I went with my favorite pair of Joie Banner Mules, currently on sale for under $120, which is a total steal. They also come in a smaller heel here, for everyday wear. I also just found this pair of Frye Sandals that I have been keeping my eye on, also on sale.
